We’re very excited because the big days are almost upon us! We see a lot of buzz going on from our sponsors and via social media, so we guess you might feel the same. To get you into that conference vibe and get you fully prepared for an awesome experience we’ve posted the final notes on our site in case you might’ve missed the e-mail.
We hope you will all enjoy this year’s edition of PHPBenelux Conference 2016.
See you in Antwerp!
This year we will again have an “Uncon” area in the Van Gogh room. But what actually is an unconference? From the start of the conference there will be a whiteboard on which you can claim a slot to do a talk on a subject you like! Or you can just check the uncon schedule on the site during the conference to see if there are any cool surprising talks that you’d like to visit.
Talks can be anything from 10 minutes up to one hour, so it doesn’t matter if you only have a short talk. Just about anything is Uncon material and sometimes the brightest talk ideas just come to mind during the conference. There is no good or bad, but the best talk will win a guaranteed talk slot for the PHPBenelux Conference 2016 with all the speaker perks that come with our speaker package.
We’ve kept it under the radar for quite a while, but it’s time to announce our keynote session. This year we’ve invited no one less than the great Cal Evans!
For anyone who doesn’t know Cal, he is one of the biggest inspirators in the PHP industry for many years. Known for his work across different continents and always awesome appearances at conferences he is definitely someone who knows the field.
For more info on Cal you can check his bio here
To get a sneak peek of what he’ll bring during his keynote session you can check the talk abstract here.
At the conference we will have our first “Community Village” if you’re interested in joining the community feel free to walk by and get some swag, talk to the people and see what is happening in your area. Or just go and see if there’s some nice swag to grab!
Are you running your own community group? Than you are more than welcome to show your community at the Community Village. It doesn’t matter if you’re just a couple of people or an army of developers, all communities are welcome to show who they are, what they do and to drop some cool swag to share with fellow community members.
Community tables are only open to people with a valid PHPBenelux Conference ticket and communities themselves need to be non-profit groups/organizations.
Bringing people together has always been PHPBenelux’s main goal, because we believe “Community Works”
Like every year we have a shuttle bus for the people who rely on public transit. We just published the bus schedule, be sure to check it before departure as changes may occur.
The shuttle bus service is a free service provided by our sponsors. Other bus services in Antwerp do require payment.
UPDATE: all our sponsor slots are gone!
PHPBenelux Conference 2016 is happening soon: on January 29th & 30th 2016 we are welcoming the PHP community to Antwerpen, Belgium.
To make this event happen, we rely on sponsors and until a couple of days ago we had a balanced budget.
Unfortunately one of our Gold sponsors backed out and that leaves us with a financial gap of 2500 EUR. As a result we have one Gold sponsor slot available and we’d love to add you to our sponsor lineup.
What do you get in return?
Here’s a couple of things that are included in the Gold package:
- Logo on the website, schedule and other print work
- Intro/outro callout with a personal touch
- Exhibition booth
- 2 conference tickets
The key advantage of the Gold package is the booth space in the exhibition hall. This is without any doubt the best way to interact with the audience.
Our event attracts 450+ attendees and every single one of them hangs out in the exhibition hall: it’s the place where all coffee and lunch breaks happen. But people also stick around during the evening socials.
Last year more than 300 people participated in the socials and because the exhibiting sponsors had a fun booth attraction, lots of people had a chat with our sponsors.
Please act fast, not only because there’s only 1 Gold slot left, but also because the event is taking place in a couple of weeks. We can help you out with the booth attraction and other logistics.
Please help us out, we’d be really grateful. We’re reaching the final preparatory stages and a balanced budget would definitely give us peace of mind.
It was to be expected giving our experience over previous editions, but today we’re officially sold-out! That’s right, all tickets that were available for this edition have been sold and no other tickets are available.
For all those people who missed out on our ticket sales, please keep an eye out for next year’s announcements. Follow us on Twitter, like our page on Facebook or connect with us on LinkedIn to receive notifications of all our updates.
Dear PHPBenelux community
As we received quite some questions on the early bird ticket sales and hotels, here are some clarifications:
The early bird ticket sales are limited in quantity and time. The contingent of conference-only early bird sales is sold out, the early bird tutorials+conference will go on a few more days until Sunday December 6th midnight. Regular ticket sales will start on Monday December 7th 00:01 for both the conference only as well as the combined conference+tutorial sessions.
Those wo have won tickets during various raffles the past year will be able to obtain their tickets in a dedicated ticket shop upon invitation by email
About hotels and transportation: the venue hotel Ter Elst is fully booked for conference staff, speakers and some sponsors. However, we are organising a free hotel shuttle bus from and to selected hotels in the area. These are: Hotel Solhof (belonging to Ter Elst actually) and the former Scandic Hotel, now known as Van der Valk Hotel Antwerpen [booking.com]. You can book the hotels through the mentioned or other online channels.
We will post also a dedicated page in the next days with more info on the shuttle service times and possibly other hotels to choose from in case of capacity problems.
Stay tuned for more updates soon!
Welcome to the jungle!
